At Kolos Cement Ltd, that same passion extended far beyond the football pitch through an interactive prediction challenge that brought employees and partner hardware stores together in a unique shared experience.
Developed in partnership with FRCI, the custom-built platform invited participants to predict match results, identify goal scorers and follow their rankings live throughout the tournament. Accessible from any computer, tablet or smartphone, the platform became a daily rendezvous where participants eagerly checked scores, updated their predictions and challenged one another in a spirit of friendly competition.
Despite matches often being played late at night or in the early hours of the morning due to time zone differences, enthusiasm never waned. Every new fixture reignited conversations across offices, depots and partner hardware stores, creating moments of interaction that extended well beyond the workplace.
What made the initiative particularly special was its ability to bring people together. Employees from different departments who rarely interacted found themselves debating match outcomes and celebrating victories together, while partner hardware stores across the island became active participants in the experience. Although separated by distance, they shared the same excitement, exchanged friendly banter and connected through a common passion for football.
The initiative recorded an exceptional 93% employee participation rate, with 80 of the 86 registered employees actively taking part throughout the tournament. Kolos' network of partner hardware stores also embraced the challenge, demonstrating the enthusiasm generated by the platform across its wider business community.
At the end of the competition, three partner hardware stores emerged as the top predictors of the 2026 edition:
- A.M. Molin Ltée
- Sunflower Quincaillerie Ltd
- Ramiah Vitaldas
Kolos warmly congratulates the winners and thanks every participant who contributed to making the competition such a success.
More than a prediction game, the initiative demonstrated how digital innovation can create meaningful human connections. By transforming the world's biggest sporting event into a shared experience, Kolos strengthened engagement across its teams and distribution network, proving that the strongest partnerships are often built around shared moments as much as shared business.
At Kolos, building lasting relationships goes beyond cement. It is about creating experiences that unite people, inspire interaction and reinforce the spirit of community that drives the company forward.
